Origin: Yugoslavia – patented.
Use: valuable for industrial purposes, attractive also as dessert variety. Growth: on Wangenheim purple plum seedlings the trees grow very poorly, whereas on Prunus cerasifera seedlings the trees have a very strong growth and develop fruit early. Crop: rich, regular. Fruit: large or very large (approx. 60 g), dark blue, with an intensive wax coating, the pulp may be separated from the stone very easily. The fruit stands transport well. An allogamous variety. Ripe: end of August, can be kept on the trees longer for better taste. Suitability: for mass production orchards, and grafted on Wangenheim purple plum trees, for amateur plantings. Resistance: resistant to plum pox. |
